Prepaid Energy and house rehabilitation program
Aldemar de Jesús Zapata – Resident of the municipality of Bello, Antioquia.
“In every way, I find the energy very useful, compared to other times when it was illegal electricity; it wasn’t legal, but smuggled. Now we have regular electricity and everything is legal. We no longer have the risk of it being cut off later, nor the risk of short circuits or fires. I have electricity 24 hours a day unless I run out of power, and then I just recharge it. We use it for the blender, refrigerator, television, and stereo. It’s an ordeal to be without legal electricity.”

Gap Closing program beneficiary
Alexis Saldarriaga – Resident of the Corazón neighborhood – Commune 70, Medellín
“Before we had the sewer system, there were a lot of smells and mosquitoes. Now with the sewer system, the water is cleaner; the dirt doesn’t fall into the creek… The truth is, this sewer system is super good; it helps us a lot in the community.”

Beneficiary of the Unidos por el Agua Program
Diego Fernando Trujillo Posada – Resident of the Olaya Herrera neighborhood, Medellín.
“We had to go to the neighbor to get a little bit of coconut water to make a pound of rice (…) Unidos por el agua (United for Water) is everything to me (…) because without water we are nothing (…) My family and we are very grateful for this project (…) Now we can truly say we are citizens!”

Beneficiary of the Unidos por el Gas Program
Natalia Paniagua Hernández.
“Today is a very special day for me. After waiting many years, I was finally able to connect to the natural gas network. For me, it’s like a dream come true; because for economic reasons, it seemed like a distant prospect. Today, thanks to the Unidos por el Gas Program, I am a happy beneficiary of a subsidy, which not only allows me access to a service that is available whenever I need it, but is also safe, affordable, and best of all, it adds value to my home. How do I feel? Happy, I am very happy.”
